Project Description

The OECD LEED Programme commissioned Dr Pinto to participate in an expert team to assess the local entrepreneurial ecosystem, including identify challenges and gaps in the ecosystem and formulate policy recommendations, backed by international good practices, to strengthen the local ecosystem for entrepreneurship and SME development. 



Services Provided

Specific task was to
- review the access to finance with a focus on identifying the major issues in access to finance in Abu Dhabi,
- assess local policies and programmes to support new start-up and SME financing,
- identify policy gaps, and
- come up with recommendations to improve policies and fill gaps.

The current and future role of Khalifa Fund in the backing of enterprise financing was explored, together with an assessment of the other major stakeholders in the field of access to finance.
